5 Easy Tips To Achieve Your New Year’s Resolution in 2018

2018 came round way to quickly I’m just getting over 2017. Each year I propose a time to evaluate my life, consider my goals and make plans for the year ahead. So many of us stick to our New Year’s resolutions but by the end of the second week have already given up.

So here are my 5 easy tips to successfully achieve your new year’s resolutions.

New Year’s resolutions for me are long-term goals, it’s not enough for me to just simply be interested in my goals, but to be committed to them.
I realised that the only way I had stuck with my resolution for 2017 was because I was committed with a passion to work on my goals. So be honest with yourself and ask your self what you want out of the goals you are setting yourself and that you truly want it.

I work on a weekly basis and for me, a fresh start is every Monday morning. I don’t wait until the new year to make my new years resolution. I make weekly goals this way if I fall off the bandwagon I know I can jump back on it again on Monday, so it never feels like I have failed.

“I don’t wait until the new year to make my new years resolution, I make weekly goals”

Learn to value your goals, goals help me believe in myself, I set goals for myself in order for me to fuel my ambition. I feel like the year ahead of me has a purpose. My goals help me achieve my vision. My visions are placed all around the home, I have a mood board and post-it notes next to my bedside table, Instagram images on the fridge and little notes in my diary.  It’s important to me to be constantly reminded of what it is I want to achieve in my life no matter how big or small. So constantly remind yourself of your ultimate goals.

Get Closure in 2017 and take time to self-reflect and figure out the reasons why you didn’t achieve all the goals you set from your previous year. The reason this works is that whatever you did wrong previously you will be able to recognise and avoid it all together this year.

I’ m secretly a little OCD when it comes to setting deadlines for my goals, remember you need to set a realistic deadline for completion. Make a list of when you want to have the goals completed by and don’t leave it until the end of the year to review your progress. Nobody wants a goal that extends into infinity. I truly believe these tips have helped me stay on track on achieving my goals and sticking to my new year’s resolution.
